115x65 Rare Antique Indian Curtain Embroidered Embroidery

This panel takes my breath away!~ ( I have the matching panel, simply search my store for the word Indian , and it will appear! It's an Antique, Indian curtain constructed sometime around the 1930's however, the embroidered panel is late 1700's or early 1800's ~ It's DIVINE ~ the embroidery is so dense, this textile would have taken AGES to create. The black ground fabric is a wool blend, and the ground cloth used on the embroidery is also a wool blend. The thread used for the remarkable embroidery is silk, gold in tone. This is a curtain best saved for a more decorative approach as it really shouldn't be opened and closed every day, however if it is, one should be gentle with it as it's very early and has lost some integrity ~ handmade and fabulous! ~ A rare work of art ~

MEASUREMENTS : This lovely curtain measures approximately : 115 inches long by 65 inches wide at the bottom. The top, where it is gathered measures 49 inches wide ~

CONDITION: This textile is in as found, not freshly cleaned condition. This textile has 2 large splits in the embroidered panel near the bottom. These can be repaired by hand or fusing the back of the textile ~ There are age marks on the silk embroidery, discolorations from age ~ This panel has signs of time and use, often inherent in these fabulous antique textiles ~ Condition is reflected in the price ~*~
